When God’s plans for Abram were about to begin, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am the Almighty God; walk before Me and be perfect” (Genesis 17:1).  When God’s plans for the Exodus were about to begin, God appeared to Moses in the burning bush and said, “Tell the children of Israel, I AM has sent you” (Exodus 3:14).

When God called Ezekiel to be a prophet, He started off by revealing Christ’s glory… “The heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God” (Ezekiel 1:1). When God commissioned Isaiah, he was given a vision of Christ glorified… “I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up” (Isaiah 6:1).

This is why in Revelation the Churches are given a vision of our risen Savior. It was to kick off the ministry of the Church Age with a vision of the Goal, energizing Believers through centuries of persecution, to preach Christ crucified, risen, glorified, and returning in clouds of Glory.

The root of all faithful service and enduring power is found in these words of praise… “To Him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us priests and kings to God.” How could we not share such Love with a dying world?

The world is passing away, just as Jesus warned. But we share the Gospel of Life and Hope, to all who have ears to hear. Jesus didn’t just live in the past. He is alive today, saving from sin, guiding in truth, leading in right paths, being Light and Comfort for each day, while restraining evil through His Spirit and His people. But rest assured, soon and very soon… “He is to come.” Hallelujah.
