Turbulent Waters

In the book of Revelation (17:15), we are told what the “waters” represent… “The waters that you (John) saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages.”
Take note, that the prostitute, also known as Babylon the Great, is seated upon the vast “waters” of the nations of the world. It represents global influence and control over the nations. With one glance at the world’s news, you don’t have to wonder if the prostitute is alive and well. It is actively trying to destroy nations and promote secular globalism, and for those that don’t give up easily, coups are happening throughout the world right now.
The prostitute’s destruction is more than political, it’s spiritual. “She is drunk with the blood of the saints and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus” (Revelation 17:6). Have you seen the slaughter of Christians throughout the world? Nigeria, Congo, Sudan, Iran, India, etc. Her goal is full dominion over subverted nations, and violence and cruelty are her best tools to accomplish this. A trail of blood follows her.
But into this scene a Voice (of God) is heard… “And I (John), heard a Voice from heaven, like the roar of rushing waters, and like a loud peal of thunder…” (Revelation 14:2). Then, an angel shouts to the whole nations of the world, “Fear God and give glory to Him for the hour of judgment is come! The harlot of Babylon has fallen!” (Revelation 14).
Isn’t it a beautifully victorious thought to know that the God that forgives, loves and dies for us, is the same God who speaks with a voice of such immense power that the gods of this world are crushed under it? The harlot that stood so cruel and proud is now destroyed under the wrath of Almighty God.
Don’t lose heart, dear ones, the turbulent waters you see now are just a precursor to the coming wrath of God, where this horrible evil will be destroyed once and for all and cast into hell. Then, Perfect Peace will come. Come, Lord Jesus!
