Unhindered Majesty

When Jesus healed on sabbath days, it infuriated the legalists who had twisted the true meaning of the sabbath to a point God never intended. Jesus answered them, “My Father works up until now, and I work” (John 5:17). In other words, God never stops working for the rules and opinions of men.
Later, as Jesus walked through Herod’s district, certain men came to Him saying, “Get out and depart from here: for Herod will kill you.” Jesus answered, “Go tell that fox: Behold, I am doing cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be finished.” In other words, no human authority can hinder the purposes of God.
Three times in the Gospel of John, “they sought to take Him, but no one could lay hands on Him, because His hour had not yet come” (John 7:30, 8:20, 16:32). God’s plans are right on time, and all the plotting of the enemy cannot speed it up or delay it.
And the cherry on top is the empty tomb, with even the “watch” of soldiers (being 16 at the least) witnessing that He rose again. Our world tried to stop, hinder, suppress, and even kill Truth… and He arose.
What an encouragement this is for us today amidst… the lawfare designed to suppress Truth; authorities who abuse their office to hinder it; thugs who organize in the dark to oppose it; and armies who station themselves against the rise of it.
This is why we rejoice in Christ. He arrived under Herod the usurper’s nose, and He left humiliating every earthly power. This is no time to be discouraged… “He shall not fail nor be discouraged, until He has set justice in the earth: and the continents shall wait for His Law” (Isaiah 42:4). Hallelujah.
