“Thus says the Lord: In a time of favor have I heard You, and in a day of salvation have I helped You: and I will preserve You, and give You for a Covenant of the people, to establish the earth…” (Isaiah 49:8).

This is the Father’s answer to Jesus’ prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus’ death and resurrection would open the door of the New Covenant, for all people, to “establish the earth.”

While people today are working to “destroy the earth,” the promise to all those in Christ is an everlasting Covenant, that neither evil, nor death, can stop the coming good that God has in store for our lives.

“Oh, let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but ESTABLISH the righteous: for the righteous God is testing (sifting) hearts and motives” … “The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but He will ESTABLISH the border of the widow” … “Of the increase of Messiah’s government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon His Kingdom to order it, and to ESTABLISH it with judgment and justice.”

God gave us these prophecies for the express purpose of comforting hearts until they come to pass… “Thus says the Lord, the Maker [of the prophecy], the Lord that formed it, to ESTABLISH it, Jehovah is His name; call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty (inaccessible) things, which you could not otherwise know” (Jeremiah 33:2,3).

The same God who gave us these promises, in an everlasting Covenant in Christ, secured by His resurrection, will “comfort your hearts, and ESTABLISH you in every good word and work” until He comes! Trust Him.
