The Reminder

Today is the day God called Noah and his family into the Ark, seven days before the Flood hit. It took Noah 120 years to build the Ark and the Bible says, “The longsuffering of God waited, while the Ark was being prepared” (1 Peter 4:20).

Longsuffering means “slow to wrath,” and we’re told the reason… “The Lord is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9).

Within 1,656 years from Creation, God’s assessment was that there was no hope for the earth. They had refused to repent while Noah preached about God’s love and righteousness. They didn’t need more time, a better Gospel preacher, or someone to love them more. They were fully given over to rebellion…

“God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually… the earth was corrupt (destroyed) before God, and the earth was filled with violence… for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said to Noah, “The end of all flesh is come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them…” (Genesis 6:12,13).

Today there is another Ark, of which the first Ark was only a picture. Jesus… and faith IN Him, and His precious blood, will lift us above the judgments coming on this earth. It is His goodness at the Cross that ought to lead every reasonable heart to repentance.

When all is said and done, God’s grace and patience to mankind, through Christ, will be the wonder of eternity. How good He is! Keep calling people into the Ark of Christ. Very soon He will say, “Come.”
