Her name was Hagar. She wandered alone on a desert road, wondering what she would do – pregnant, and nowhere to go. But the Lord saw her, called to her, told her what the future held, and told her what to do. “And she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “The God who sees me” (Genesis 16:13).
A man named Nathaniel met Jesus for the first time through a friend. Jesus said to him, “Before Philip called you, while you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” Nathanael said, “Truly, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!” He knew no one but God could have seen him.
Before Jesus went to the cross to die for our sins, He said these words… “I do not pray for these (His disciples) alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word” (John 17:20). He looked down the hall of time and saw you and me.
The God who named the billions of stars in the universe, knows the names of every person on earth. He sees us from the moment of conception, cares, loves, has plans for us that are too numerous to count; knows when we stand up, sit down, what we want to say before we say it, and understands our far-off thoughts. He came in the power of love, to redeem us from sin’s consequence of death, by “tasting death for every person” that we might forever share His glory (Psalm 139).
The Bible reminds us that each day is ‘day of salvation.’ People all over the world are still finding that Jesus is “The God Who Sees, Knows, Cares, Loves” and has power to save all who call upon Him in truth.
