His Power Toward Us

Jesus stood at the graveside of a man named Lazarus, and with a loud voice, called him forth. He had been dead four days already – but it didn’t matter. Jesus is Life. He announced to the crowd which had gathered around the tomb… “I am The Resurrection and The Life: he that believes in Me, though he dies, yet shall he live. And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die” (John 11:25,26).
Before Jesus was crucified, He told His disciples… “I lay down My life, that I might take it up again… No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again” (John 10:17,18). But the joy of salvation in Christ, is that He laid down His life for us… that He might raise us up again.
We not only have “newness of life” here and now spiritually, but it will end in physical resurrection to all Believers… “For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout… and the dead in Christ will rise first: then we which are alive and remain, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…” (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17).
God wants us to rest secure in His power toward us through this life… “That you might know the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He displayed in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and set Him at His own right hand…” (Ephesians 1:18-20).
Our great resurrection morning is coming. Death and evil will be vanquished. Weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning. Maranatha.
