Just As Jesus Said

Last week Northern Ireland held a press conference to bring attention to the lawlessness ruining their country. Their language was noteworthy. They said, “We don’t see a way out of this.” That is precisely what Jesus said the state of the nations would be prior to His return… “Distress of nations with perplexity” (Luke 21:25). Perplexity means, “No way out; at a loss for a way.”

Meanwhile, Fox News aired a special report on the unprecedented “fraud epidemic.” This too is exactly what the Bible foretold… “But evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13).

Everything Jesus said would come to pass before His return is here: the violence like Noah’s day; the sexual perversion like Lot’s day; the rise of antisemitism; the epidemic of anxiety; the narcissism, greed, and disdain for truth.

But these fulfilments make the other words of Christ even more weighty and precious… “Verily, verily, I say to you: The one who hears My word, and believes on Him who sent Me, has everlasting life (right now), and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed (right now) from death into life” (John 5:24).

At the beginning of His ministry, Jesus said: Not one jot or tittle (smallest dot or crossed ‘t’) will in any way pass from the Law (God’s Word), till all is fulfilled” (Matthew 5:18). At the end of His ministry, He stated it again… “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My words shall not pass away” (Matt. 24:35).

Jesus will come to judge this world in righteousness. After that, we will see such good as our hearts can hardly comprehend. May what you’re seeing now only fuel your faith to anticipate His rescue and draw closer to His promises.
