Given An Understanding

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us an understanding, that we many know Him who is true, and we are in Him who is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life” (1 John 5:20).

Jesus has shown the world what God is like. God has not left us with questions. Jesus declared publicly, to those watching His miracles and hearing His teachings, “I and My Father are one,” meaning, they are the same in character and conduct. Jesus said it plainly to His disciples, “He that seen Me, has seen the Father.”

Jeremiah lived a time of great moral and political corruption. He was a prophet to the nations, to call people to repentance before impending judgment. His message is just as relevant today…

“Let not the wise man glory (boast and rejoice) in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: but let him who glories glory in this: that he UNDERSTANDS and KNOWS Me, that I am the LORD who exercises lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, says the LORD” (Jeremiah 9:23,24).

God has GIVEN the world an understanding, that everyone might know Who the true God is, what He is like, and what He requires of mankind. The world is without excuse on the eve of Christ’s return as Judge…

For, God “so loved” the world (all, not a mere few) that He gave us His only begotten Son (equal in every way to the Father), that whosoever believeth in Him (active faith that turns from sin and delights to follow) should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
