Desperation & Deception

As Europe continues to grapple with the rise of Islam, fear and hopelessness is taking root. People keep making comments that they no longer recognize their country; that they know they need to move, but where? And they fear for their children’s future.

Do we recognize that this desperation is the groundwork being laid for the rise of the antichrist? In the 1950’s, Paul Henry Spaak, a former Prime Minister of Belgium, made a statement that is even more true today… “What we (Europeans) want is a man of sufficient stature to hold the allegiance of all people, and to lift us out of the economic morass into which we are sinking. Send us such a man, and be he god or devil, we will receive him.”

Out of desperation a road is paved for deception. The world WILL get their desire and the antichrist, also known as the beast, will rise to power with the love and support of all the struggling nations. His oratory skills will be impressive along with his diplomatic and political prowess. “…the dragon (Satan) will give the beast his power and his throne and great authority” (Revelation 13:2). The world will get the devil.

What hope is there for a world so easily deceived? Can the titanic be turned around at this late date? The Bible tells us there’s only ONE way to save this world from complete destruction and it’s through calling on the Lord. “If My people who are called by My name shall humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will HEAR from Heaven, and will FORGIVE their sin, and I will HEAL their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

May the nations of the world cry out to God. He alone is the answer.
