As You Have Done

Nestled into the pages of Scripture are nuggets of truth that are as unchanging as gravity and as piercing as the sword of God’s Word. These truths are to be taken soberly, and fearfully, because God does not say something just to sound strong. He means it!

“The Day of the Lord is near for all nations. As you have done, it will be done unto you; your deeds will return upon your own head” (Obadiah 1:15). And…  “Whatever you have done to the least of these (a term used for the small Jewish nation), you have done it unto Me” (Matthew 25:40).

Did you know that France was the first European nation to recognize Palestine as an independent state and simultaneously turned against the Jewish nation? The Jews have been systematically demonized, boycotted, and deliberately ignored as they are assaulted, murdered and isolated. God sees it all and has promised that as it is done to the Jews, so it will be done to them.

Now France burns, attacked by the very regime they defended and promoted. Their first mistake was not taking God at His Word. Their second mistake was thinking the Jews were easy prey to be targeted for global brownie points with no repercussions. Their own evil has been turned on their own heads, just as the Bible said it would.

When will the world learn that God won’t be mocked? There are other promises in God’s Word that should be taken to heart…  “He that blesses Israel I will bless, and he that curses Israel I will curse (Genesis 12:3).” Did you know a prayer can bring a blessing of prosperity? “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; he shall prosper that loves thee” (Psalm 122:6).

May we hear the Word, obey the Word and remember… as we have done to God’s chosen people, so it shall be done to us.
