Words Of Joy

As we enter Fall, darkness is rapidly descending on our days – both seasonal and moral. Joy seems to be withering away from our countries as the Lord and His Word are pushed further away.  How wonderful to know we have a miraculous Source to refuel our hearts!

The Apostle John testified, “That One who was from the beginning, we have heard, we have seen with our eyes, we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled of the Word of Life! And the Life was manifested, and we have seen and bear witness, and show to you that Eternal Life, who was with the Father and was MANIFESTED TO US.” 

And praise God he didn’t stop there… “That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you ALSO may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full!” (1 John 1:1-4).

This prized fellowship is not confined to a privileged few in time!  The miracle of faith is that everyone who trusts in Jesus as the Son of God can experience this vibrant relationship through the written Word and prayer… “The one who has My commandments, and keeps (treasures and obeys) them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him and MANIFEST MYSELF to him” (John 14:21).

Jesus is our Light in these dark times and our chief Joy.  And it is our daily experience in His Word which reminds our weary hearts that the best is yet to come. Jesus said, “I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no one can take from you.”
