Waiting Tests Us

Moses stood at the edge of the Red Sea knowing there was no way forward in his own power. God had faithfully been with them all with the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, but things still seemed dire. The hoof beats of Pharaoh’s army could be heard at a distance… death was coming!

Do we relate to these moments of “waiting on God?” Why does He ask us to wait when we feel so strongly that we need deliverance NOW? There is a Divine purpose in the waiting as we are forced to trust God in a new and deeper way. That part of our own self-control that has never fully been broken and surrendered to God is confronted and challenged. A choice must be made… we must not “Lean on our own understanding, but in all our ways acknowledge Him and He will direct our paths” (Proverbs 3:5).

Moses encouraged the Children of Israel by reminding them that God is faithful to deliver…  “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians that you see today, you will never see again forever” (Exodus 14:13).

Friends, be encouraged as you await His return. The world is churning in violent unrest, but God is with us in the waiting. We stand at the edge of eternity awaiting the skies to part and Jesus to come. He is faithful to His Word… stay strong, stay focused, stay hopeful, as we are promised that…  “In a little while, He that shall come WILL come and will not tarry” (Hebrews 10:37).

He’s coming.
