When God's Judgment Falls

When the Bible speaks of God’s judgment on the world, cities, or people, it has to be viewed with the full knowledge of WHO God is. God is love; He is good; He is slow to wrath, righteous in all His ways and holy in His works.

God is also a Protector of the helpless. He hates death, evil, and lawlessness, far more than we do. The Bible clearly tells us what He hates… arrogance, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart devising wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who breathes lies, and one who purposely causes division (Proverbs 6:16-19).

When people reach a level of evil where they are incurable, when they refuse the gift of time and grace to repent, God brings His righteous wrath. The days of Noah reached a point where “every thought of the imagination of their heart was only evil continually.” They hardened themselves in evil to their own destruction, as did Sodom, Pharaoh, the Amalekites that God sent king Saul to destroy, and others whom God judged as unfit to live any longer. God removes them from earth to protect others.

The Hamans, Hitlers, Hamas, and regimes today who are pushing unspeakable evil on this world, will fall by the same judgment because God is righteous. He will judge evil. But in His love, He has offered grace through the Cross of Christ before He returns to Judge the world in righteousness. It’s a warning that nations, leaders, and all humanity should take seriously given the evidence of history.

The wrath of God is because of the love and protection of God. It falls only after God’s call for reason/repentance have been stubbornly rejected… but fall it will.
