What A Good Father!

Today is Father’s Day, the day we celebrate all that our dads have given to us to make our lives better - a listening ear, a guiding hand, the comedic relief that life so needs, and the faithful and steadfast love and commitment that steadied our families like the rudder of a ship. And if your dad knew and loved the Lord, shepherding his kids in the ways of God, then you are even more abundantly blessed! 

Many of us now have a father that is with the Lord, and this day leaves an ache to see them again, but as children of God, we are not alone. We have a Heavenly Father that watches over us with such deep love, listening to the deepest cries of our hearts, always “ready to help in our time of need.”

This intimacy with God is life’s greatest treasure! He knows this world is full of rejection and hardened hearts, and He reminds us…  “Can a mother forget her nursing child and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, yet I will NOT forget you!” (Isaiah 49:15) 

May we live each day as though we are cherished, cared for, thought about and precious, because to Him, we are. We are not His slaves trying to earn His love, but we are His children, secure, safe, and free.
