Save Yourselves

“And with many other words did he (Peter) testify and implore the people, saying, ‘Save yourselves from this crooked generation!” (Acts 2:40).

As Peter preached about faith in Jesus, he reminded people that salvation, although it is offered for the whole world, requires an individual response. This is an act of great respect and dignity from God.

As political parties, and governments, force complete conformity to their immoral mandates by cult tactics, the freedom of individual choice is being systematically removed. There is no room for debate, reasoning, or questioning.

God calls for the exact opposite of conformity, by requiring people to exercise His God-given gift of free will …  “Do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” (Romans 12:2). 

God also calls for separation. Notice again the dignity of our free-will… “Come out from among them, and be separate, says the Lord, and touch not that which is unclean (immoral), and I will receive you, and I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:17,18).  

And once people choose to come out of the world, the life of free-will grows into greater choices of dignity… “Freely you have received, freely give.”  

People don’t realize how they are being treated as slaves and animals by being told to shut-up, put their minds in neutral, and let someone else do their thinking for them. The highest dignity known to man – the dignity of choice - is offered by the extended hand of Jesus Christ to rescue us from slavery to sin. It is expressed in these words… “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.”
