The Watching Judge

While all the big names meet in Davos for the WEF, some getting the “red carpet” treatment, others being welcomed with open arms and words of flattery, the Unseen Guest at Davos this week is Jesus.

Jesus is listening as various leaders announce from their podium that “The rule of Law is over,” What they really mean is that the days of Christianity’s influence in our countries is over. We are watching Psalm 2 take place before our eyes… “Why do the nations rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD and against His Messiah, saying, ‘Let us break their cords (restraints) asunder.”

God’s response is epic… “He that sits in the heavens shall laugh.” Imagine, mortal men telling the eternal God His time is up and His rule is over… “God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the leaders. ‘How long will you judge unjustly, and accept the faces of the wicked? Selah! Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked!”

God’s assessment of these leaders continues: “They choose not to know (justice), neither will they understand (righteousness), they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth (family, church, education, government) are out of course. I have said, ‘You are all gods for all of you are children of the Most High, but you shall die like men and fall like one of the (wicked) princes.’”

And it makes us smile, that those agonizing over President Trump buying Greenland, have no idea that the whole world belongs to Jesus, who redeemed it for Himself at the Cross… “Arise, O God, judge the earth: for You shall inherit all nations” (Psalm 82).
