Peace & Assurance Forever

The Board of Peace has been officially inaugurated this morning as an International Organization. It’s 19 members will help oversee the Gaza transfer of power and attempt to bring a lasting peace to the Middle East. But while it sounds good, the Bible describes the outcome… “The ambassadors of peace shall weep bitterly.”
There can never be peace without righteousness, for “The work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteous shall be quietness and assurance forever” (Isaiah 32:17). And the only work that provided righteousness for mankind is the cross of Jesus… “He, who knew no sin, was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Righteousness results in peace… “He made peace through the blood of His cross, to reconcile all things to Himself… and you, who were once alienated and enemies toward Him in your mind, evidenced by wicked works, yet now has He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, unblameable, and unreprovable in His sight” (Colossians 1:20-22).
Now our stand before God is perfect and spotless! Our record is clean! there is no warrant against us from Heaven’s court. Our names are written on the citizenship Scroll of Heaven, giving us full citizenship rights and privileges, and we rest on the promise of deliverance from the day of Judgment coming on this world.
In this evil world, every Believer can live with peace and assurance who are planted on this truth: “God commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being justified (cleared from all guilt and made righteous) by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him” (Romans 5:8,9).
