The Skies Declare His Glory

An extreme G5 geomagnetic storm reached earth this week, gifting many parts of the world’s skies with dazzling colors, even southern states that never see the aurora. Geomagnetic storms are caused when the sun has explosions of plasma sending magnetic fields rushing toward earth. Is this a random event or a sign we were told to watch for?
“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, in the stars” … (take note in these verses what accompanies these signs) …
“And on the earth, distress of nations, with perplexity (confusion and deception), the sea and the waves (refer to humanity) roaring, men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. THEN they will see the Son of Man coming in the clouds with power and great glory” (Luke 21:25-27).
Eyes were lifted up in wonder, away from the distress enveloping this earth; the splendor and beauty quieted the bickering of our day, even if just for a while.
May we find hope in these “signs in the heavens” as our hearts long for the Lord to come and take us to the Home He has prepared for us. His glory seen in the skies is a reminder that He is overall, fully Sovereign and in control. May our great Expectation fill us with wonder and hope. One of these days, the trump will sound, and our faith will give way to sight.
Maranatha!
