The Only Foundation

“This is the Stone which was despised by you builders, which is become the Head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:11,12)

Rejection of the right foundation in a building project results in ruin. The same is true for our lives. Jesus said, “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who  built his house upon a Rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon The Rock. And everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does them not, shall be likened to a foolish man who built his house upon the sand. The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it!” (Matthew 7:24-27).

Notice the storms of life came to both people. But only the life built on Christ safely endured. Jesus still calls… “Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden (with the sin and evil in this world), and I will give you rest.” The same Lord who laid the foundations of earth, is Himself the Precious Cornerstone, where our souls find rest, and upon which we can build our lives, families, and futures, forever.
