The Gift Of Life

Jesus sat by a well in Samaria and asked the outcast for a drink of water. She said, “Why would you, being a Jew, ask water from a Samaritan woman?” Jesus said, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that has asked you for a drink, you would ask Him, and He would give you Living Water” – (John 4:10). She drank of His Living Water and found new life.
Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem. He knew the leaders despised and rejected Him - not because He was evil, but because He was righteous. He exposed their sins, hypocrisies, secret thoughts, arrogant ways, and rebuked them publicly as “blind leaders of the blind.” They wanted Him dead. But as He drew near the city, he wept over it, saying, “If you had known, even you, at least in this your day, the things which would have belonged to your peace…” (Luke 19:42-44).
They could have known. It was written in His Word all along… “As it written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him. But God has revealed them to us…” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
God also wants people to know the things which are coming for those who reject Christ because they love their sins. They will share the same judgment as the devil… “Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41).
We’re watching the world divide into good vs evil, light vs. darkness, truth vs. lies. It’s because, as Jesus said, there are only two ends – Everlasting Life or Everlasting Fire. May we share the Gift with loving urgency.
