The Belt Of Truth

“Stand firm then, with the belt of Truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God” (Ephesians6:14-17).

Did you ever think you’d live to see a day where words of Truth are called hate speech? That a man can’t become a woman and vice versa? That the nuclear family is the healthiest environment for children to grow up in? Or that marriage should be between a man and a woman only? Or that killing babies is wrong, as well as permanently sterilizing bodies of our confused youth is compassion? Speaking Truth, just words, no weapons, just words from God’s Word, infuriates our godless world, and has brought death to Charlie Kirk. What a dark time in our country!

The belt of Truth is unique among the armor in that all the other armor parts are held together by it. Without Truth you have no protection, everything falls apart, and you have nothing worth standing up for and living for. It’s essential! The apostle Paul instructed young Timothy to “Preach the Word of truth in season and out of season,” when it’s convenient or inconvenient, whether it’s received or hated. We must speak Truth. We still have our voice.

If we speak Truth and it’s not received, at least we have obeyed God and their argument is with Him, not us. May we live boldly, declaring Truth to a world that is under the influence of the father of lies, and the great deceiver. Truth matters! Truth saves! Truth directs. Buckle up.
