Spiritual Warfare

It was shared online that a group of witches convened with one purpose - to cast spells on Charlie Kirk, calling for his death. His wife was aware of this and asked for prayers of safety for her husband. What people need to recognize is that spiritual war always precedes physical war. This strategy is nothing new… it’s a pattern seen throughout the Bible and will continue up to the very day Jesus returns…

Halfway through the seven-year tribulation we read that… “War broke out in heaven, Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he, the dragon, was not strong enough and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down, that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and his angels with him” (Revelation 12:7-9). At this point, the demonic realm “makes war against the saints on earth.” The spiritual war preceded the physical war…again…!

If you feel a heaviness has overtaken this world, it’s spiritual warfare and it’s intensifying. There’s a serious weight to it and the saved soul feels its burden. Scripture gives us clear direction for how to live among this evil…  “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Come near to God and He will come near to you…” (James 4:7,8).

We are reminded that “We struggle not against flesh and blood (the physical realm) but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). People are realizing in a new and profound way the reality of this demonic realm and the spiritual war all around us.

May we spend more time with Jesus, more time in prayer and the reading of His Word, and don’t forget to armor up! In spite of this struggle, we must continue to serve Him with joy and freedom. Remember, “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4).
