Secret Knowledge

“Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretched forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by Myself; that frustrates the ‘proofs’ of the liars and makes ‘soothsayers’ mad; that turns (worldly) wise men backward and makes their knowledge foolishness…” (Isaiah 44:24,25).

Three groups of people are listed in Isaiah as claiming to possess “secret knowledge” that no one else has. Liars claim ‘evidence’ they can’t reveal; soothsayers claim access to ‘spirits’; and the world’s wise men lean on faulty ‘science.’ All these groups reject the Bible, ‘The Word of Truth,’ the observational reality of a Creator, and the eyewitness, historical, ‘infallible proofs’ of a living Savior.

Not only has God revealed “the end from the beginning” in His Word, but the Scriptures reveal that He is actively frustrating the work of the father of lies from His Throne Room. He exposes and brings to ‘no effect’ their evil purposes, through His Spirit and His people.

As we watch the battle between Truth and lies, what a comfort that the Lord who formed you from the womb is the God who formed the universe and the ages of time, Jesus Christ our Savior… “Who being the brightness of God’s glory, and express image of His Person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on High” (Hebrews 1:3). 

The only “secret knowledge” is with those who love Christ and read His Word – not because it’s ‘secret’ but because others refuse to know it… “The secret of the Lord is with those who reverence Him; and He will show them His Covenant” (Psalm 25:14). What's our secret? One day soon, we'll see everything made right by Jesus Christ. Hallelujah.
