Repackaged

There were three main demonic entities that were worshipped in biblical times, Baal, Ishtar, and Molech, and they are still active in our world today, but their packaging is different… more acceptable, modern and relatable. Let’s look into them… 

Baal, was considered the lord of the earth. There are three main tenets of Baal worship and it is child sacrifice, sexual immorality and worship of animals and creation. Most of our world today provides the “right” for women to terminate their pregnancies, even up to full term. The sexual immorality that is prevalent everywhere goes hand in hand with child sacrifice. They want to do as they please, with whomever they please, without any consequences. But, into this scene they claim to have a “spiritual side.” They worship nature. The environmentalist movement is far beyond just good stewardship of the earth; they’ve made a god out of it. They go so far as to make her a deity… Mother Earth, who gives us all life. The demonic spirit of Baal is alive and well. He’s just repackaged. 

Ishtar was a “goddess of heaven,” beautiful, feminine, strong, and gifted fertility to everything from crops, animals and people. But she had a fierce side… the goddess of war and conflict. Temples to Ishtar included prostitution, not just of adults, but children… sound familiar? This demonic entity has been repackaged to include the world-wide sex trafficking ring that is attended by men and women of the highest rank and power. Even when it is exposed, it is never taken down. This evil is fiercely protected. The spirit of Ishtar is thriving! 

Molech is known as the lord of sacrifice. With the head of a bull, his outstretched arms would receive infants, while a raging fire burned them to death. It was taught that this sacrifice was worth it and pleased the gods, and prosperity would follow you. People nowadays say this is barbaric and we would never do such a thing… but we don’t speak out against babies being saline burned to death in the womb and then pulled apart in the name of “women’s rights.” But the altars of sacrifice are the same as centuries ago… convenience, greed, prosperity and self promotion all give license to kill another in order that you may prosper. It’s demonic. This mindset reaches far beyond abortion to assisted suicide and eugenics. The result of bowing to this ideology? A whole western civilization whose population is in a death spiral, while Islam is taking over through their high birth rates. How ironic that this god society has followed will sacrifice them!

So how do we live in a world that lives for false gods? We do the exact opposite. We love and celebrate life. We keep boundaries on our sexual enjoyment to marriage alone. We thank God for every blessing knowing it comes from His hand. We speak up against lies and show them God’s ways. May we stand strong and recognize in a new way that there is nothing new under the sun… just the same demons, repackaged to be more acceptable. God is with us.
