Plucked From The Fire

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. In Hebrew the name is “Yom HaShoah,” meaning “Day of the Desolation.” But God promises… “Those who seek my soul, to destroy it (shoah) shall go into the lower parts of the earth” (Psalm 63:9).

The enemies of Israel should know that Jesus and Israel are intimately connected. Israel is a nation created by God to bring Christ into the world to save it.  When Jesus died on the Cross, He died to redeem this nation just as equally as He died for all humanity. One day Israel will “look on Him whom they have pierced,” repent of rejecting Him, and become His redeemed nation – the same way everyone must be saved.

God calls Israel, “A brand plucked from the fire” (Zechariah 3:2), to become a rod of justice in His hands.  He will use them to defeat terrorism and share His glory among the nations during the Great Tribulation. Isn’t that the glory of redemption – plucked from the fires of hell to be used for God’s glory?

God calls all Believers to pray for Israel (Psalm 122:6), comfort her with the news of her coming Savior (Isaiah 40), and to give Him no rest until He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth (Isaiah 62:7).  Today we remember that the hatred of antisemitism will be swallowed up by the love and power of God for His nation. Hallelujah. The promises of God will never fail – for Israel and for you.
