Prophecy sets the Bible apart from every other book in the world. Its prophetic accuracy is unmatched, detailed, and in the thousands. There were over 20 specific prophecies, fulfilled at Jesus’ birth, that were recorded up to 700 years before He was born: The Virgin Birth (a sinless body) … a moving star (guiding Wise Men) … an Announcer (John the Baptist) … The town (Bethlehem) … the specific location (Tower of the Flock) … flight to Egypt (escaping Herod) … the martyred baby boys (weeping mothers) … the return to Nazareth (Herod’s death) … joy and gladness at His birth.”

Not one of these events could have been manipulated. And this was only Jesus’ birth. There were hundreds of prophecies about Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection that were fulfilled to the smallest detail, so it’s no marvel that there is great excitement and anticipation for the prophecies yet to come. Because of Christ’s first appearing… “We have, made more sure, the word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns, and the Daystar arises in your hearts” (2 Peter 1:19).

Our world is spiritually dark and dangerous. But just as the angelic light and announcement broke into the dark night to herald Christ’s birth, another day will dawn where the fulness of time has come and He will return, this time to reign in righteousness and punish evil.

Until then, Jesus is still calling the lost to turn from sin and run to Him for eternal life. To those looking for Him, “He shall appear the second time, not to deal with sin, but to complete our salvation” (Hebrews 9:28). Part two of “His-story” is about to dawn and everything will change.
