Name The Threat

There is a tangible fear of being too honest anymore. Courage has been replaced with cowardice while evil marches forward in boldness. We need a resurgence of strong voices, speaking with biblical clarity, naming the threats destroying our world.

To the individual believer, the greatest threat is letting God slip from first place in our hearts…  “You’ve forgotten your first love” (Revelation 2:4).

To the churches, the greatest threat is compromise and cowardice from the pulpit. Half truths, watered down truths, and statements demeaning the Word… (such as, “You must die to self,” is replaced with “What this really means is try not to be negative.”)

To our culture, (especially in the press and Hollywood), the greatest threat is they have made the praise of man their god. They KNOW what the truth is but CHOOSE to appease their peers and the public with lies. This addiction to acceptance and praise has become their god and will be judged for “suppressing the Truth” (Romans 1:18).

Naming the real threats in front of us is essential to seeing things clearly. The Bible is clear that our world isn’t just struggling due to bad choices or bad elections, but sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

This is time for all of us to rise up in courage, strength, and honesty, as we name the threats of our day. May we bring Light to the darkness, and Truth to the lies.
