He Is Faithful

“Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the Word of the Lord have free course (run), and be glorified, even as it is with you: and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for not all men have faith. But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil… and the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ… brethren, don’t be weary in well-doing.” (2 Thessalonians 3)

We have just witnessed God’s faithfulness turning evil into greater good than we could imagine.  He promised to do “exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that is at work in us (the Holy Spirit),” that Jesus Christ would be glorified (Ephesians 3:20).

In a spiritual sense, it was the perfect Feast of Trumpets. A Memorial service, a day of trumpeting out the Gospel all over the world. The message? Jesus saves, Jesus lives, and death, sin, and hell is defeated for all who trust in Him. The crowning moment, was the “reminder” that Jesus said from the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” The Lamb was glorified, His grace was magnified, and His offer of salvation was heard by the world.

God took what this wicked world intended for evil and turned into a global Gospel call because He is Faithful and True. What an encouragement to press on for the last leg of this time-period on earth. The Age of Grace is closing soon. Christ will return to judge the world in righteousness. And when He does, the name by which He is called is, “Faithful and True.” What a joy to belong to Him, serve Him, and magnify His love.
