Our world is determined to find a way to reach eternal life without God. Just this week the Russian and Chinese presidents were overheard on a hot microphone saying that through perpetual organ transplants we can live forever. This narrative isn’t new, even the scientific world boasts that now that they know how to hack our DNA that eternal life is now within their grasp.

There’s two big problems with their plan - First, God is still in control and He has set clear boundaries on who achieves eternal life with Him in Heaven and who goes to hell. And second, eternal life on a fallen earth isn’t heaven at all, or even close to it. It’s not just living forever that is the desire of man, but being in an environment that is free of sin, of selfishness, and uncertainty. Being in Heaven with God is what makes Heaven, Heaven.

But make no mistake, we are all eternal beings, “Some to life eternal and others to eternal damnation” (Matthew 25:46).

As the redeemed of God, we carry the message of eternal life in our hearts. May we be quick to throw this Life-Saver to anyone that is weary of this world and this life, longing for something Real and Lasting.

The ABC’s of Salvation are so simple a child can understand it…

“A” is for admit you’re a sinner that needs a Savior (Romans 3:23).

“B” is for “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).

“C” is for “Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

May our eyes stay fixed on Christ, as He is the Author of our Eternal Life, and the Architect of our New Home in the Heavens. Our hope is not in man and their faulty counterfeits of eternal life, but in The One that is “The way, The Truth, and The Life.”
