Drawing Water

Almost every water source around the world has been polluted. Everyone looks for fresh, pure water, from an uncontaminated source. Purified water companies are everywhere. And this holds a spiritual truth for us, because there was only one Person who ever lived who was called “The Fountain of Living Water.”

Every word He spoke was truth and life. He refreshed the souls of those who heard Him, imparted eternal life to those who believed in Him, and withstood the wicked with perfect wisdom until they no longer dared to test Him. Jesus fulfilled the Scripture which said, “The mouth of a Righteous Man is a well of life” (Proverbs 10:11).

The joy of the Scriptures is that His words are “living and powerful.” Not only is the Word of God divinely preserved forever, but God promises, “With joy shall you draw water from the wells of Salvation” (Isaiah 11:3). We have 66 books of the Bible to draw from, and they all refresh our hearts with the power and glory of Jesus.

Putrid water flows every day from our social media sites and news stations, much of which is purposed deceit and perversion. Only in the Bible do we find an Artesian Well of Life that will always satisfy our souls.

Jesus still calls to unbelievers… “If you knew who is speaking to you, you would ask of Him, and He would give you Living Water. For all who drink of the world’s water will thirst again: but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give shall never thirst again; but the water that I shall give, shall be in that person a fountain of water, springing up into everlasting life.”
