Be Strong And Get To Work

This command was given by God through the prophet Haggai to the Jewish people that remembered the temple and what it was like in its former glory. Haggai acknowledged that the new temple being built seemed like nothing compared to its former state, but that vision was needed, hard work and commitment, to bring it to fruition…

“But now the Lord says, ‘Be strong, Zerubbabel. Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people still left in the land. And now get to work, for I AM with you, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies’” (Haggai 2:4).

This same God also calls us to get to work… to, “Occupy (work) until He comes.” We are building a Kingdom of believers that know and love the Lord. We are called to be “fishers of men,” reaching the lost with the saving Grace of the Gospel. This work has no end date, no age limit, and no retirement. It is a calling from God; an eternal Kingdom.

“Then the Master told His servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes, and compel them to come in, so that My house will be full” (Luke 14:23). This work holds top priority, as life is fleeting and eternity is forever. Jesus assures us that making this calling a priority comes with a blessing…  “Seek ye FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and ALL these other things will be ADDED to you” (Matthew 6:33).

May we all see ourselves as Kingdom builders, knowing that it is God that strengthens us for this work in order that many may come to know Him as Lord and Savior. One day we will be in Heaven marveling at this amazing Kingdom of God, full of precious souls, that were once lost on earth. Our goal is to make Heaven crowded, or as the Bible says, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.”

Let’s get to work!
