“My heart is overflowing with a good theme! I recite my composition concerning the King: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer! You are fairer than the sons of men; grace is poured into Your lips; therefore, God has blessed You forever. Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O Mighty One, with Your glory and majesty! And in Your majesty ride victoriously because of truth, meekness, and righteousness!” (Psalm 45:1-4).

Nothing makes our hearts overflow like setting our minds on the return of our King! This is the Jesus unknown to our world.  Herod tried to kill Him as an infant; Pilate stood a beaten, bloodied Messiah before the rabid mob and shouted, “Behold, your King!”; Roman soldiers braided a crown of thorns, pressed onto His head, and put a reed in his right hand, then bowed their knees before Him, and mocked Him, saying, “Hail! King of the Jews!” before continuing to beat Him till He was unrecognizable.

Chief priests, scribes, and elders, who should have known God’s Word and recognized Him, even while He hung dying, shouted, “Let the King come down! He saved others yet He can’t save Himself!” Even one of the thieves crucified beside Him “cast the same in His teeth.” All the while, the accusation over His cross was, “This is Jesus: The King of the Jews,” in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek, so everyone could know what “crime” He was crucified for.

Yet, He gave His life willingly because He loved us. And by His precious blood our debt of sin is paid in full. And one day the world will know: He let them so He could save us.  Yes, our King is coming in power, majesty, and great glory. Do your want your heart to overflow with good news? Set your mind on Christ’s return. Maranatha!
