Facing 2026

Time is a measurement. When God made the world, He gave us elements to measure time… “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, seasons, days and years” (Genesis 1:14).

Jesus is called “The Father of Eternity” because He is the Author of time (Hebrews 1:2). He is “from everlasting,” having neither beginning of days nor end of life. He is “the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Our existing calendar divides past and present by His first appearing and is still the legal way of defining time… “BC” meaning “Before Christ,” and “AD” being Latin “Anno Domini” meaning, “In the year of our Lord.”

As we face 2026, the safest place to be is in Christ’s hands. No matter what turmoil our world is in, our confidence is knowing… “I have trusted in You, O Lord. You are my God. My times are in Your hand” (Psalm 31:14,15).

Jesus has promised… “My sheep hear My voice (His Word), and I know them (personal relationship), and they follow Me (walk in Truth). And I give to them eternal life (unending quantity and quality of life); and they shall never perish (emphatic!), neither shall anything/anyone pluck them out of My hand” (John 10:27-29).

From this vantage point of Eternal Safety, we can face the coming year, not as passive onlookers, but as bold Ambassadors for Christ, serving while awaiting His return… “May God fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness, and the work of faith with power: that the name of the Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (2 Thessalonians 1:11,12).

Happy New Year!
