A Nation Born In A Day

May 14, 1948, 74 years ago, was the day Israel was made a nation fulfilling the prophecy found in Isaiah 66:8… ”Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall a land be born in one day? Shall a nation be brought forth in one moment? For as soon as Zion was in labor she brought forth her children.”

All the enemies of little Israel, on earth and in the spiritual realm, could not stop the will of God and His prophetic Word. They even tried to kill the brand new birth of this nation by attacking it in war the very next day! But, in spite of barely having a military, God gave them a miraculous victory. Why? Because the Word of God is unchanging. He said Israel would be reborn as a nation and it was. Period.

Israel is now 74 years old. Her enemies are plentiful, and their demonic lust to destroy Israel has consumed them. But after years upon years of terror attacks and territory wars with their Arab neighbors, they are still standing, just as God said they would.

Friends, this should thrill our weary hearts, because Jesus said that when we “See the fig tree (Israel) begin to leaf out (new birth) that we know summer is near, even at the door! Truly, I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened.” Matthew 24:32-34

What “things” was He talking about? All the signs of the last days, and into the tribulation period, listed in Matthew 24. Please read it, it’s too long to post here. But the generation that sees Israel’s rebirth will live to see these last days, and they are! Oh how close we are to the Lord’s return! I think we should all celebrate this day, Israel’s birthday, as it reminds us that God’s Words never ever fail! What comfort to rest in that!
