We Have Seen His Glory

When God rescued Israel from slavery and brought them 50 days journey to Mt. Sinai, they did not see Him, or any likeness of Him… “You saw no manner of likeness on the day the Lord spoke to you in Horeb (Mt. Sinai) out of the midst of the fire, so do not corrupt yourselves and make a graven image…” (Deuteronomy 4:15,16).

But from the beginning of time, God promised that one day people would see Him and know Him. He would “put on flesh” and walk among us. Fifteen hundred years later, the disciples would write… “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth… no one has seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him (fully unfolded Him to our eyes)” (John 1:14,18).

We live in a day when many religions claim to represent God, but only in the face of Jesus Christ is the glory of God revealed. And only in the Word of God, the Bible, do we have His unchanging truth.  Every question of, “What is God like? Is He knowable? How does He work? What is His character?” is answered in Jesus Christ. And the greatest question… “Are we loved individually?” is answered by the Cross… “God demonstrated His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

The greatest Gift our world has been given is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We are loved, forgiven, and helped each day through this life, until He returns to put down evil. The beautiful words of our Bible testify to this great truth… “These things are written that you might believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God; and that believing you might have life through His name” (John 20:31).
