The Coming Exodus

When Moses said, “Let My people go”, Pharaoh gave three sly responses… “Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land” … “I will let your men go” … “Go, only let your flocks and herds stay behind.”
Pharaoh is a picture of Satan’s hold on society today. How he hates the family that serves God! Godly families make godly nations, which the Lord promised to make the head, and not the tail. Pharaoh’s first temptation was, “Go serve God but don’t leave Egypt” - be the kind of Believer that talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk. The second was, “Let the men be go” – divide the home. He knew a house divided against itself cannot stand. Lastly, “Go as a family, but not as a flock” – you don’t need the others; keep your faith personal, not public. He knew that God calls His united people an “army.”
Is it any wonder we see such an attempt to destroy the family unit, corrupt our children, and silence our Churches? The world doesn’t fear a compromised Christianity. But it fears the life on fire, walking in holiness, carrying the Cross, and unashamedly holding forth the Word of Life. Pharaoh’s tyranny only drove the people of God to stick together more, protect their little ones more, cling to God’s Word more, and long to leave more.
No heart where Christ has “settled down to be at home” can settle down and be at home in this evil world. We will not conform nor compromise. We’ve applied the blood of the Lamb to our hearts and homes; we’re feasting on His sacrificial love; our shoes are on, we’re ready to go. It’s midnight. Our time in Egypt is ending, and our glorious journey into the “ages to come” is about to begin.
Stand firm in the liberty with which Christ has set us free.
