Sent From Heaven

In Isaiah’s day, God said the throne would not depart from Judah’s line until the arrival of Messiah. But there was a group of people that wanted to overthrow Judah and give it into the hand of wicked rulers of other countries. The Lord’s message to Isaiah was this…
“Because these people have refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly… I will bring upon them the waters of the river (King of Assyria), strong and many” (Isaiah 8:6,7).
Shiloah means “Sent.” It was the where the kings of Judah were anointed and crowned. The prophets foretold that when Messiah came, those waters would become healing waters. This is where Jesus sent the blind man to wash when He healed his eyes… “Go wash in the pool of Siloam (Shiloah), which by interpretation means “Sent.” And he went his way, washed, and came back seeing” (John 9:7).
Jesus, God’s only Son, has been “Sent” from Heaven to bring everlasting life to this dying world through forgiveness of sins. He is the gentle Fountain of Living Waters whose coming reign is sure. Those who repent and trust His sacrifice, are granted righteousness and eternal life. Those who reject Him, shall face the overflowing waters of coming Judgment. May we urge the unsaved around us to come to the Fountain of Living Waters while there is yet time.
“Sent from Heaven, God’s own Son,
To purchase and redeem,
And reconcile the very ones
Who nailed Him to that tree
Oh, that rugged Cross, my salvation,
Where Your love poured out over me,
Now my soul cries out, “Hallelujah!
Praise and honor unto Thee!”
