Our Reason For Joy

This week has been filled with memorials… the martyrdom of Charlie Kirk, the terror attack of 9/11, and the testimonials in Canada of the ruined lives by medical tyranny. How interesting that the Feast of Trumpets, the memorial of Jesus’ return, should also fall on the same weekend as these. And notice the contrast; in the midst of the tears and heartache of the first three, Jesus’ memorial is to be a day of absolute joy…

“This day is holy to the LORD your God; do not mourn, nor weep… Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy to our LORD: neither be sorry, for the joy of the LORD is your strength” (Nehemiah 8:9,10).

The Lord wants us to remember that martyrdom, terror, and tyranny… will find their justice in the return of Christ. For those who love Jesus, He is the Bridegroom. For the persecuted, He is the Avenger of Blood. And for world leaders, He is the Judge of all the earth.

There is no single event in world history that is going to change the world in an instant, like the return of Christ. So as we go through this weekend, remember the precious words of Jesus that He gave at Passover… “As long as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are proclaiming the Lord’s death, UNTIL He comes.”

Happy Rosh Hashanah, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Rejoicing. Evil has an end date when the Trumpet of Heaven sounds (Psalm 29).
