Not Destroyed

There are four Psalms in the Bible (57,58,59,75) captioned with a Hebrew word, “Al-taschith,” meaning, “Not-Destroyed.” These Psalms announce triumphantly that, despite the plotting of the wicked, those in Christ can never be destroyed.
Like David who wrote these Psalms, we see “the wicked have ‘prepared’ a net for our steps to overthrow all that is right and good. But the child of God looks at what God has ‘prepared’ for those who love Him… “Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world” (Matthew 25:34). Christ’s Kingdom can never be destroyed.
Like David, we grieve at the silence of those who have the power to uphold our rights and freedoms, but who say and do nothing to stop lawlessness. Their silence has only enabled evil. Yet, the child of God knows that there is One who will not be silent… “Our God shall come and not keep silent!” He will bring forth justice with truth and all the earth shall see it. The righteous can never be destroyed.
Like David’s day, the wicked use tactics the upright would never stoop to. Lies, violence, oppression, and deception. These manipulations are abhorrent to those who walk in integrity before God. The wicked imagine this is their “strength.” But the child of God knows righteousness and truth, as lived and proven by Jesus, is real strength… “To You, O my Strength, will I sing: for God is my Defense.” Jesus has defeated both death and the Devil. His resurrection proves He cannot be destroyed.
While world leaders talk of “Peace and safety,” only by faith in Christ is there a living Guarantee of “Al-taschith” to all who will come by way of the Cross, lay down their past unbelief and sin, and place their confidence in Him.
