Lovers Of Life

As believers, one of the greatest acts of Christ-like love we can have is to unashamedly and happily love life and defend it. “I lay before you life and death, blessings and curses; now choose life that you and your descendants might live” (Deuteronomy 30:19). 

Everything that is precious to God, or made in the Image of God, is under attack… the life of the unborn, or just born, or now, toddlers and young children’s lives are viewed as having little to no value. These are not random, but signs of a dying end-days culture, prophesied in the Word of God. “In the end perilous times will come; hearts will grow cold… they will lack natural affection; they will be heartless, unappeasable, without self-control, brutal and hating what is good” (2 Timothy 3:2-3). 

Not only is this evil happening, but it is being defended. The same crowd that shouted, “Give us Barabbas!” is the same crowd defending these atrocities. At the root of this evil are hearts that have stepped far away from God and His plans and have demanded a world where there is no accountability for their actions and no moral order. In doing so, they have destroyed themselves. Where God wanted to place His deep love, there is now only a numb dark void. Where the bond between a parent and child should be filled with years of endless joy, love and laughter, and a place to be treasured their whole lives long, it is now reduced to a burden to be despised and resented. But it all started by stepping away from God. 

But God is still calling! The heart of God is always reaching out, to lives that are empty and void of His love, seeking to fully restore them and make all things new. His love can replace emptiness, and His purposes make life rich and worth living. He is able! 

May we be reaching out and sharing Jesus with our broken world. And when He is received into these dark and empty hearts, His Light enters and new life begins. With each day, they become more and more like Christ, bearing His image, and their character becomes alive… loving, faithful, dependable and strong. Oh how our world needs Jesus!
