Living For A Higher Purpose

As Believers we know we are alive at this exact time by the will of God, not to build our own kingdom, but to be ambassadors of a Higher Kingdom. This is the meaning behind all we do. Whether we are raising children… it’s for the Kingdom of God and His glory, or we are working in a career, we work as unto the Lord and not unto men. But there is a problem… 

Many Christians today claim to not know their purpose… they live for the joy of the moment, but struggle with the deep things of the heart. “Why don’t I feel fulfilled? Should I be doing more? I feel like I’m simply treading water… always busy,  but doing nothing significant.” This is a call for every believer to find a work for the Lord that stirs their heart; something they feel passionate about and then step into the work, in whatever way that looks like.

It’s been said we don’t begin to live until we begin to live for something bigger than ourselves. It’s also true that we will never be satisfied simply serving ourselves. We weren’t made for perpetual self-focus. We were made to serve others and care for the needs of others before ourselves. Lastly, we are eternal beings, hard-wired to live for the eternal over the temporal. Anything else will not satisfy. 

The disciples saw it… Missionaries see it… and they have lived significant lives spending all their energy taking the love and light of God to a dying world. Being ambassadors of Christ is to know our calling and to live it full-out everyday. Time is so short. May it be known of you that you believed that Jesus came to seek and save the lost… and that people who place their lives in His hands are free in ways they had only dreamed of. Their hearts no longer live under the dread of an expiry date, but live as eternal, vibrant beings, full of life and love. May this be your reputation… a life of deep significance in Christ.
